Ryan is Head Trainer and one of the owners of SoCal Gym.

He has been a personal trainer for over 16 years and has personally trained for more than 20 years across gym training and a range of sports.

Over his career he has worked with hundreds of clients with goals including weight loss, muscle building, health optimisation, competition prep, rehab and strength gain.

Ryan is passionate about constantly developing his knowledge and has worked with leading experts in the industry. A career highlight was being personally trained by Mike O’Hearn for four years.

Outside the gym, Ryan is a big dog lover and has a love for all things California.

Amy - SoCal Gym coach

Amy

Manager / Trainer

Specialising in female fat loss, muscle building and performance.

Amy has been training herself for around 15 years and coaching clients for around 6 years.

Her own training journey started with a typical bro-split style of training before moving into powerlifting, where she set a district junior deadlift record at 17.

She later transitioned into more aesthetic-focused training, building a style centred around creating a strong but feminine physique.

Training with Amy is focused on getting strong, building and maintaining the shape you want, developing healthier eating habits and enjoying the process.

Amy also has a background in counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy, with experience in both NHS and private mental health settings. This helps her consider factors such as stress, sleep and lifestyle that may be affecting progress.

She is also Co-Owner and General Manager at SoCal Gym.

Charlie - SoCal Gym coach

Specialising in womens strength and physique development.

Charlie is a certified women’s personal trainer and has been coaching clients for around 4 years.

She has a long background in dance and has been lifting weights for around 6 years, starting with powerlifting before moving towards bodybuilding with the aim of competing in the bikini division.

Charlie has built a community of women who are not afraid to take up space in the gym. Her mission is to help women gain strength, build muscle, lose weight and develop a healthier relationship with fitness and nutrition.

Having experienced disordered eating and binging herself, Charlie understands how to reach goals without extreme restriction and prioritises building a balanced approach.

Her coaching also considers female physiology, including how to train around the menstrual cycle, when to push, and when to rest.

Eamonn is a personal trainer with a simple mindset: lift heavy and have fun doing it.

He has around 5 years of experience working with a variety of clients across different gyms and fitness spaces.

After spending years feeling skinny while playing sports, Eamonn swapped boots for barbells and found his love for the gym.

His coaching uses knowledge, experience and humour to tailor sessions around each client’s goals.

Eamonn believes in training heavy, working hard and having someone by your side who motivates you all the way.

Specialising in strength training, fitness and lifestyle coaching.

Alex is a serving member of the Royal Navy and has served as an aircraft engineer since 2018.

His own fitness journey began in January 2023 during a promotion course, when he realised he wanted more from himself physically and mentally.

Since then he has built strength, better habits and a stronger mindset. He discovered he enjoyed helping others hit new personal bests, which led him to start studying to become a personal trainer.

Alex’s coaching philosophy is built around consistency and flexibility. He understands that life can get busy, and enjoys helping committed clients work around real-life obstacles.

He has represented the Royal Navy in football, volleyball and powerlifting, giving him insight into training for performance as well as lifestyle change.

Alex offers full online coaching as well as 1-to-1 coaching when he is back home.
